Makassar, February 2 2026— Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) officially opensTraining for the 50th Batch of Basic Instructional Technique Skills Improvement Program (PEKERTI).organized byUMI Human Resources Research and Development Institute (LP2S)., Monday (2/2), online.
Chairman of LP2S UMI,Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, M.Si, in his speech said that the 50th Class of PEKERTI Training was attended by145 participants from 80 universities spread across 28 provinces in Indonesia. This training will last forseven days, from 2 to 9 February 2026.
"UMI continues to be committed to being a professional, superior and trusted PEKERTI training provider. Until now, there are as many4,221 lecturers from 857 universities"I have attended PEKERTI training at UMI," said Prof. Baharuddin.
He also emphasized that UMI was declared againmeets the requirements as a PEKERTI Training organizerbased on the determination of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, and continues to develop the curriculum according to the latest policies and learning needs in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era.
Furthermore, Prof. Baharuddin explained that there wasthree main achievementsWhat is expected from PEKERTI participants, namely:
Able to organizeSemester Learning Plan (RPS)systematically and measurably.
Able to demonstrate appropriate learning methodsCourse Learning Outcomes (CPMK).
Able to measure learning achievement through practicemicroteachingas a prerequisite for lecturers' pedagogical competence.
Meanwhile,Chancellor of the Indonesian Muslim University, Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, S.H., M.H., in his introduction expressed his appreciation and appreciation to all participants for the trust given to UMI as the organizer of PEKERTI Training.
"The Ministry's trust in UMI certainly does not come just like that, but through a strict evaluation process. Therefore, we must maintain this trust together with the implementation of quality training and in accordance with regulations," emphasized Prof. Hambali.
The Chancellor of UMI also emphasized that PEKERTI training isobligations for novice lecturers, while becomingimportant requirements in applying for lecturer certification. He hopes that participants can take part in the entire series of activities seriously and not make this training just a formality.
"Make the most of this opportunity. PEKERTI training is not only to fulfill administrative requirements, but to form lecturers who are able to plan, implement and evaluate learning professionally," he said.
On that occasion,The Chancellor of UMI officially opened the 50th Class of PEKERTI Trainingby reading basmalah, marks the start of a series of training activities which are expected to improve the pedagogical quality of lecturers throughout Indonesia.
