Towards the end of 2025 and entering the 2026 academic year, collective reflection is needed
towards the management of lecturer research in the university environment. This reflection is not only important
to assess administrative achievements, but to look honestly at how research has been
positioned in the tridharma ecosystem of higher education. The momentum of the new year is a moment
the right way to reorganize the roles, synergies and direction of strengthening research so that it is more structured,
impactful and sustainable.
Substantive Reflection, Management of Our Research.
Lecturer research should ideally not be positioned as an individual activity alone, but rather as necessary
organized and supervised systematically at the study program and faculty level, parallel to
teaching management. So far, institutional attention has often focused on burden sharing
teaching, while the mechanisms for monitoring and strengthening research are relatively not running optimally.
In fact, research is a tridharma obligation as well as a strategic interest of internal institutions
improving academic quality and reputation. Furthermore, many national research schemes require it
student involvement, so that good research management actually provides direct benefits for
students through accelerating studies, strengthening publications, and early research experience.
In the context of governance, LP2S as an institutional research institution has played a major role
in the aspects of administrative services, facilitation, monitoring-evaluation, information and resource socialization
research funding and reporting. Institutionally, LP2S does not have room for movement
goes too far into the realm of the scientific substance of the research proposal. Therefore, strengthening the quality of the content
Substantive research is more appropriately supervised at the study program or faculty level within
the same field of knowledge. Through this role, the study program can help lecturers increase their depth
substance, methodological accuracy, and scientific relevance, as well as carrying out early detection of
potential plagiarism, duplication of themes, or conceptual weaknesses before the proposal is submitted. Role synergy
study programs/faculties and LP2S are the keys to strengthening the institutional research ecosystem in a sustainable manner.
Ideally, the study program builds a research roadmap as a common direction for development
scientific knowledge, so that lecturers' research does not run partially and independently of each other. this roadmap
functions as a strategic reference so that lecturers' research topics remain in line with the study program's vision and needs
institutions, and scientific developments. Within this framework, lecturers still have academic freedom,
but does not leave the agreed research direction corridor. Publication output and wealth
Intellectual engagement that involves students not only provides academic benefits for students, but
It also has strategic value for study programs and institutions as proof of student involvement in research
lecturers and joint publications. Therefore, study programs need to give priority and support to
students who are actively involved and produce publication outputs or KI, because of the benefits
double for students, lecturers and institutions.

This year, the Downstreaming Directorate opened various downstream research funding schemes
demands the involvement of industry partners and local governments as an important part of the process
development and implementation of research results. This condition confirms that future research will not
only strong academically, but also relevant, applicable, and directly connected to needs
user. Thank God, institutionally the Indonesian Muslim University already has a number of them
Tridharma cooperation and collaboration with industrial partners and local governments that have been around
goes well. Some of this collaboration has the potential to be utilized by
lecturers as partners in implementing downstream research. In the future, synergy and utilization are expected
Existing MoUs and PKS can be further optimized, so that they not only strengthen networks
institutions, but also opens up broader, more impactful and sustainable downstream research opportunities
for lecturers and institutions.
We all hope...
Entering 2026, it is hoped that lecturer research management will become more integrated,
collaborative, and oriented towards quality and impact. Stronger synergy between LP2S, programs
studies, and faculties are expected to be able to build a healthy, focused, and research culture
sustainable. Hopefully this joint effort will be part of the best service for development
science, improving the quality of graduates, and institutional progress. With good intentions, collective work,
and prayer, hopefully 2026 will be a year of strengthening research that is more meaningful and brings
blessings for the entire academic community….. Aaamun ya rabbi…
