The Research Master Plan (RIP) describes the direction of research that will be carried out by universities, therefore, it is hoped that UMI's RIP is intended to further strengthen both the content and quality and substance of research carried out by researchers. This was conveyed by the Chancellor of UMI, Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA., before opening the UMI RIP Workshop held by the UMI Resource Research and Development Institute (LP2S), at RM Ulu Juku (28/3).
He continued to say, "The superior research stipulated in the UMI RIP becomes the spirit of research carried out by lecturers who interact in the learning process at UMI," hoped Masrurah, a professor in Linguistics.
Meanwhile, Head of Research and Development of Resources (LP2S) UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Ma'ruf Hafids, SH.MH said that in 2012 UMI had allocated more than one billion in funds to UMI researchers, and Alhamdulillah UMI had received the trust of decentralization of research from DIKTI in connection with the Research Master Plan (RIP) which established 4 superior research groups, namely engineering and environment, food and health, economics and humanities, Islam and character. Each superior group has superior research fields with themes that have been designed to be developed so that the research results can later be applied in society. 5 year time span (2012-2016).
Present at the event, the Secretary of the UMI Waqf Foundation, Ir.H.Lambang Basri, M.Sc., Ph.D. Deputy Chancellor I Prof. Dr. H. Syahnur Said, MS. WR 4, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Abdul Makhsud, DEA, Faculty leaders and heads of institutions within UMI, UMI researchers from various scientific disciplines.
