UMI Makassar – Institute for Research and Resource Development (LP2S) Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar, held Learning Methods and Media Training for UMI permanent lecturers, opened by UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA, accompanied by the Chair of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH, MH  in the LP2S hall of the UMI Tower building, 3rd floor, Monday 14 March 2016.

UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA before opening the event said, with the current development of information media, which also has an impact on the development of learning media, a lecturer must be more creative and innovative in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Before teaching, lecturers must prepare supplies well, because students may know more and obtain more information from various media than lecturers. Because much of the information that students know and understand is not obtained from interactions between lecturers and students on campus but is obtained by themselves through information media such as the internet.

For this reason, through this training, UMI lecturers are expected to be able to follow the development of information media-based learning methods and systems, so that they are not left behind and can keep up with the times.

"We are grateful that various provisions continue to be provided to UMI lecturers to support the teaching and learning process in the classroom. It is hoped that this training can increase insight and understanding of learning methods and media which continue to develop, according to developments in information technology," he said.

Head of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH, MH said, this training was attended by 38 permanent UMI lecturers, aimed at adding insight and new information, because as lecturers you have to carry out your duties using good learning methods, in order to build interaction with students.

Information media is developing very quickly, in the past lecturers taught by dictating and formulating with explanations. Now the development of learning media technology is very developed. For this reason, let's respond to the development of learning media technology, by following technological developments.

"This training can be used as a forum for exchanging information, discussing with the presenters, because each faculty has its own characteristics, social sciences are not the same as exact sciences, and have their character in the process of teaching methods and media," he said.
