
Makassar, umi.ac.id – The Institute for Research and Development of Resources (LP2S) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) is holding Online Zoom Instructional Techniques Training (PEKERTI) Batch XXXIX which will take place from 09 to 16 December 2024.
The Pekerti, which was attended by 77 participants, was opened directly by Plt. UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH., MH. Also present was the Chairman of LP2S UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Sc. along with his staff and training participants.

In his speech, he said that the condition for a university to be able to hold Pekerti and AA is that the university must be accredited by a Superior Institution and thank God, UMI has achieved Superior accreditation twice in a row from 2018 to 2028.
"This character training provides opportunities for lecturers to improve their competence and quality of learning so as to produce lecturers who have pedagogical competence," he explained.
The UMI Law Faculty Professor hopes that through the character and AA training held by LP2S UMI in a superior and professional manner, it can give trust from the public, especially the Ministry of Higher Education, to entrust other programs to UMI.
"I, as the head of the university, would like to express my highest thanks and appreciation to the participants and hope that this pekerti activity will be followed well so that the participants will become lecturers who have professional competence," he hoped.
Meanwhile, Chairman of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Sc. said that LP2S UMI continues to be committed to being a Professional, Superior and Trusted Pekerti organizer.
"The Character Training for class XXXIX starts from 09 to 16 December 2024 with 77 lecturers participating from 46 universities spread across 23 provinces in Indonesia. Currently, LP2S UMI has produced 2844 participants from 553 universities in Indonesia," he said.
The FEB UMI professor also said that the character training module produced by LP2S UMI was adapted to the character curriculum of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, which is now the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technology and had undergone curriculum development by the Innovative Learning Ecosystem Team.
"The expected achievements after participating in this Pekerti training are being able to plan learning activities well as reflected in the RPS and being able to demonstrate learning abilities as reflected in micro teaching activities and being able to evaluate learning outcomes," he concluded.
