UMI Makassar – Institute for Research and Development of Resources (LP2S) of the Indonesian Muslim University is carrying out the Community Development and Development Pattern (P3U) activities for UMI Lecturers and Employees. This activity lasted for 2 (two) days, which took place in the LP2S Meeting Room, 3rd floor of the UMI Tower Building (08/02). This activity was also opened directly by the Chancellor of UMI, Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA. who was accompanied by the Head of LP2S, Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib SH., MH, LP2S Secretary Prof. Dr. H. Mursalim Umar Gani, SE., MM and Head of the LP2S Training and Human Resources Center Ir.H. Winarno Arifin, M.Sc also acts as chairman of the committee.
This activity aims to increase and develop the quality of human resources for lecturers and employees who are based on independent Faith and Taqwa (IMTAQ), such as: skills, knowledge, expertise and character carried out through education and training. The education and training provided to lecturers and employees must be in accordance with the required requirements, so that improvements in the quality of lecturers and employees will truly be met. It is on this basis that the Institute for Research and Development of Resources (LP2S) carries out Ukhuwah Development and Development Pattern (P3U) activities.
UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA. in his speech he said, so that this activity can continue to be carried out because P3U is very important and influences the career path of lecturers and employees, “previously P3U was one of the requirements if lecturers and employees wanted to hold positions and be promoted, they had to take part in P3U first,” he said.
The first woman who became Chancellor at UMI recalled and told about the time she took part in P3U activities, "I still remember when we took part in this (P3U) activity, it used to be held at Campus I (jln. Kakatua Tiga) and the Al-Jibra Auditorium, we even stayed overnight," she continued.
By carrying out this P3U activity again, it is hoped that the potential of lecturers and employees at the UMI Makassar Campus will continue to be improved both in terms of ability, academic education, academic position level and professionalism abilities. It is hoped that developing the capabilities of lecturers and staff will guarantee the level of performance that will be produced in the future.
