The UMI Resources Research and Development Institute (LP2S UMI) held a Research Results Intellectual Property Workshop for UMI Permanent Lecturers via zoom, Saturday, December 5 2020.

This workshop was attended by 100 participants who were UMI lecturers and researchers from 13 faculties within UMI.

Prof Dr H Syahnur Said MS as chairman of LP2S in his speech said that this workshop aims to increase knowledge and understanding for UMI lecturers/researchers regarding research results that have the potential to obtain intellectual property rights, so that their work can be legally protected. Apart from that, this workshop also seeks to increase the motivation of UMI lecturers/researchers in registering their work to obtain IPR.

"Participants in this workshop are UMI lecturers/researchers who have research titles that are considered to have the potential to obtain patents or other intellectual property. Selection is based on searching research results data recorded in the UMI LP2S," said Prof. Syahnur, Professor at the UMI Faculty of Business and Economics.

This workshop presented a resource person, Dian Nurfitri, S.Sc., MH, Head of the Patent Examination Sub-directorate, Directorate of DTLST Patents and Trade Secrets, Directorate General of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia. The material in this workshop is an introduction to intellectual property and patent drafting.
