

Makassar 4 May 2026— Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) has once again demonstrated its existence as a superior and productive private university in Eastern Indonesia through the achievement of national research funding in 2026. A total of 54 UMI lecturers' research titles succeeded in obtaining funding in the 2026 Research Funding, Community Service and Downstreaming Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
This achievement was marked by the signing of the Research Funding Contract which took place in the Ridwan Saleh Mattayang UMI Hall. This activity was attended directly by the Chancellor of UMI Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, Chair of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, as well as the Secretary of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. Andi Aladin.
In his speech, Prof. Hambali Talib expressed his appreciation to all research lecturers who have succeeded in making UMI proud through this national research funding achievement. According to him, this success is not only about the number of proposals that pass, but is also proof of the increasing quality of academic culture and innovation within UMI.
"The success of UMI lecturers in obtaining funding from the Ministry of Education and Technology has had a huge impact in raising UMI's image in society," said Prof. Hambali Talib.
This year's funding program includes various strategic schemes, including ongoing research, fundamental research, postgraduate research, prototype research, and applied research. Of the total funding obtained, UMI managed to obtain more than IDR 5.7 billion in national research funds.
Secretary of LP2S UMI, Prof. Andi Aladin, explained that this success was inseparable from the intensive assistance provided by LP2S through proposal coaching, strengthening research substance, and systematically coaching national grant competitions.
Apart from the 54 research titles that passed for funding, UMI also recorded other successes through various national strategic programs, including BRIN grants, the Bestari program, and other research collaboration programs.
Through this achievement, UMI has further strengthened its position as a research and innovation campus that consistently makes real contributions to the development of science, society and national development.
