Makassar, umi.ac.id – Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) has once again received recognition as the best private university in Eastern Indonesia with the accreditation title of the first superior institution outside Java.

This recognition was seen in the signing of the contract for Research Funding and Community Service within LLDIKTI Region IX in the Ridwan Saleh Mattayang Hall on Wednesday (19/06/2025).

The signing of the Research Funding and Community Service Contract was carried out directly by the Head of LLDIKTI Region IX Dr. Andi Lukman, M.Sc. and UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH., MH. accompanied by the Head of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Sc. and Chairman of LPkM UMI Dr. H. Abd. Rauf Assegaf, M.Pd. as well as all higher education leaders within the scope of LLDIKTI IX.

Head of LLDIKTI Region IX Dr. Andi Lukman, M.Sc. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude and extraordinary pride to all higher education leaders within the LLDIKTI IX scope for their extraordinary performance.

"We, the LLDIKTI IX staff, have signed a Research Funding and Community Service contract with the Indonesian Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education with a value of 70 billion rupiah with development and improvement reaching 50%," he said.

The UMI Postgraduate Program alumnus also expressed an extraordinary sense of pride because LLDIKTI Region IX received the best research and community service funding outside Java.

"The highest research funding for LLDIKTI IX in the main cluster was achieved by the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) 52 Titles with a value of IDR 6,242,960,000," he said.

Furthermore, Community Service Funding is also held by UMI with the largest number of titles within the scope of LLDIKTI IX with Main Cluster status with details of UMI 34 titles, UCP 20 titles, Unibos 14 titles, Unismuh Mks 11 titles, and Unismuh Sidrap 7 titles, he explained.

Meanwhile, UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH., MH. expressed his appreciation to the lecturers who have passed this program. He hopes that the research and service carried out will be carried out with full commitment and responsibility.

"We congratulate and succeed to the UMI lecturers who have passed the research and service proposals. "We hope that researchers can carry out activities with enthusiasm and produce the mandatory outcomes that have been promised," he said.

The UMI Law Faculty Professor also expressed his thanks to the Chair of the UMI LP2S and the Chair of the UMI LPkM and all staff who have provided support to the lecturers at the Indonesian Muslim University.

"This success is not merely the result of individual work, but the result of collaboration and intensive guidance from LP2S UMI and LPkM UMI, through various activities, one of which is intensive support, including presenting national resource persons from DPRM DIKTI, compiling the 2025 Research Guide, as well as holding proposal clinics and mentoring by national reviewers," he explained.

"We invite the entire community, especially prospective students, to get involved in the UMI research and service process which involves students. This best achievement is a guarantee of the academic process that prospective new UMI students will accept," he concluded.
