Bandung, umi.ac.id – The Institute for Research & Resource Development (LP2S) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) visited the Regional Directorate of Science and Technology (DKST) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on Friday, May 9 2025.
The UMI LP2S team consists of the Chair of the UMI LP2S, Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Si, Secretary of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. Ir. Andi Aladin, MT., IPM., and Head of the UMI LP2S KI Center, Dr. Nurmiati Muchlis, SKM., M.Kes.
The UMI LP2S Team group was received directly at building 2 ITB Innovation Park, 2nd Floor, Summarecon, Bandung by the Director of the Science and Technology Area, Mr. Ir. R. Sugeng Joko Sarwono, M.T., Ph.D.
Also present was the Assistant Director for Technology Transfer, Acceleration and Regional Business Development, Ir. Rofiq Iqbal, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. and Assistant Director for Entrepreneurship & Business Incubation, Dr. Ir. Irwan Gumilar, S.T., M.Si and the manager of the ITB KI center, Mr. Ikhsan.
Head of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Sc. when contacted via Whatsapp, he said that this friendly visit was related to improving the quality of management performance of the IPR center of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI).
"Thank God, we were well received at building 2, ITB Innovation Park, 2nd Floor, Summarecon, which is part of the ITB Bandung Intellectual Property Center (KI) location," he said.
The professor at the UMI Faculty of Economics & Business also mentioned that the material discussed during the visit was about best practices for strengthening the institution of the ITB KI Center.
"The focus of the last material discussed was about best practices for developing partners or networks of downstream research results at ITB. The next discussion was about efforts to downstream and commercialize ITB lecturers' research results," he added.
This activity provides a lot of important information in developing the management of UMI's KI center in the future. "More specifically, increasing downstream and commercialization efforts for UMI's current research results," he concluded.
