Makassar, umi.ac.id – The Institute for Research and Development of Resources (LP2S) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) is again holding Training for Improving Basic Skills in Instructional Techniques (Pekerti) Class XLIV online via the Zoom platform, from 21 to 28 July 2025.

This training was opened directly by the Chancellor of UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH., MH. Also present at the opening of this activity, Chairman of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, S.E., M.Sc., Secretary of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Andi Aladin, M.T., Heads of Centers and Education Personnel of LP2S UMI.

UMI Chancellor, Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH., MH. In his speech he said that Character Training is part of UMI's commitment to supporting improving the quality of teaching staff in Indonesia.

"Thank God, the character training carried out by LP2s UMI has reached class XLIV, an achievement that reflects public trust in UMI as the organizer. We continue to be committed to maintaining the integrity and quality of the implementation of this program," emphasized Prof. Hambali.

Prof. Hambali also hopes that the participants will take part in the entire series of activities from start to finish well because this character training is mandatory for lecturers to get serdos and tukin, especially as educational staff in personal development and the institution where you dedicate yourself.

"We, the leadership of UMI, would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the participants for the trust given to UMI as a place to gain knowledge through character training. We hope that the participants can take the entire series of training seriously. This is part of their moral responsibility as educational staff," he said.

The UMI Law Faculty professor emphasized UMI's commitment to maintaining integrity in carrying out its mandate as a Pekerti and AA training provider.

"UMI, which was given the mandate by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, continues to be committed to maintaining integrity in providing character and AA training. We have also gone through evaluations every 2 years and thank God, UMI has regained trust as a personal education organizer until 2026," he explained.

Meanwhile, Chairman of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Sc. in his report expressed his gratitude for the trust in UMI as the organizer of Pekerti training.

Prof. Bahar added that UMI routinely holds PEKERTI training every two months, but for this class the implementation was accelerated due to the high enthusiasm and demand for prospective participants.

"Performance of Character Training at UMI is carried out every 2 months, however, based on the trust and request of prospective participants, based on these considerations, this XLIV class will be carried out 1 month after the previous class," he said.

The professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business also emphasized UMI's commitment as a Professional, Superior and Trusted organizer, and always develops training materials.

"The PEKERTI XLIV training, which was attended by 118 participants from various universities, both state and private throughout Indonesia, is a form of trust-based academic service. We continue to improve the training system and modules so that they are relevant to the dynamics of higher education," he said.

Secretary of LP2S UMI, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. A. Aladin, MS., added that the modules used have been aligned with the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, and strengthened by the UMI Innovative Learning Ecosystem Team to ensure the material is adaptive and applicable.

"With this training, UMI reaffirms its role as a professional, superior and trusted higher education institution in developing human resources, especially lecturers, to create a quality and globally competitive academic ecosystem," he said.
