Makassar, umi.ac.id – The Institute for Research & Resource Development (LP2S) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) held a Workshop on Assistance in Preparing Research Proposals for Beginner Lecturers (PDP) for DPPM DIKTI on Tuesday (16/12/2025).
The Mentoring Workshop, which was attended by 43 lecturers within the scope of UMI, was held for two days, namely Batch I: 16 December 2025 and Batch II: 17 December 2025 in the LP2S UMI meeting room, 3rd floor of the UMI Tower.
This activity was opened directly by the Chancellor of UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH., MH. accompanied by the Head of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Sc. and Secretary of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Andi Aladin, MT.
UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, SH., MH. in his speech, he hoped that the participants would take advantage of the momentum of this workshop as part of strengthening higher education tridharma activities.
"Make good use of this opportunity, because the task of lecturers is not only to carry out education and teaching, but also to carry out research and community service," he stressed.
The UMI Law Faculty Professor also encouraged novice lecturers to have a sustainable career path, including achieving the title of Professor or Professor.
"We, the leadership of UMI, continue to encourage lecturers to become professors or professors through research and community service activities. UMI has prepared space through LP2S UMI and LPkM UMI," he said.
LP2S UMI and LPkM UMI have become a spirit for UMI lecturers in increasing their capacity as professional lecturers and hope that lecturers will not only be teachers but also researchers, he hoped.
Meanwhile, Chairman of LP2S UMI Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, SE., M.Sc. in his report said that this workshop was held in line with UMI's position as the main cluster that had the opportunity to propose proposals for the PDP scheme.
"Funding for this activity comes from infaq from UMI researchers who previously passed DPPM DIKTI funding. We use these funds to hold training and workshops as a forum for preparing proposals for researchers," he explained.
The Permanent Lecturer at FEB UMI also conveyed the aim of this workshop, namely to map the position and readiness of novice lecturers in preparing proposals for the PDP DPPM DIKTI scheme.
"Through this workshop, the participants were provided with an understanding of the terms, conditions and mechanisms for preparing PDP Proposals according to the 2026 Research and PKM guidebook, so they are expected to be able to increase the chances of the proposal passing," he said.
"Through this activity, UMI continues to show its commitment to strengthening research culture and supporting lecturers as professional academics who are superior and internationally competitive," he concluded.
