Makassar 20 April 2026 — Basic Skills Improvement Training in Instructional Techniques (PEKERTI) Batch 51 organized by the Institute for Education and Resource Development (LP2S) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) officially closed on Monday, 20 April 2026, after running for seven days since 13 April 2026.

This activity, which was attended by 120 participants from various universities throughout Indonesia, took place online in an atmosphere that remained conducive, interactive and full of family. Even though it is carried out online, participants experience a learning experience that is almost equivalent to offline training.

As a participant representative, Ni Made Dian Hartaningsih expressed a positive impression of this training. He considered that the material provided was very complete, structured, and relevant to the needs of lecturers, especially for new lecturers. Apart from that, learning methods that combine technical material, ethics and teaching practices are considered very effective.

"The training atmosphere was very pleasant, relaxed but still serious. The discussions were warm, the resource persons were very competent, and the committee was very responsive and friendly," he said.

Head of LP2S UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, ST., M.Sc., in his speech expressed his appreciation to all participants for their active participation during the training. He also explained the results of the activity evaluation, where:

  • 94% of participantsstated that the material was very appropriate to the training objectives
  • 91.5% of participantsassess the quality of the sources as very good
  • 97% of participantsgave a very good assessment of the committee's services

These results show a very high level of participant satisfaction with the implementation of PEKERTI Class 51.

Furthermore, Prof. Baharuddin hopes that this training will be able to improve lecturers' pedagogical competence, especially in designing Semester Learning Plans (RPS), implementing effective learning methods, and carrying out appropriate learning evaluations.

At the end of his speech, he officially closed the PEKERTI Class 51 activities and expressed the hope that the knowledge gained could be implemented in the learning process at each university.

This training is part of UMI's commitment to improving the quality of lecturer resources in Indonesia, in line with demands for improving the quality of higher education in the era of learning transformation.
